Bio-technology

Benefiting from our close proximity to the ancient and world-famous University of Oxford, we are home to a range of biotechnology companies producing some of the most advanced research and products in the world, in areas such as nano-technology, diagnostics and gene therapy. 

Companies such as Hybrid Systems and Oxford Bio-Innovation are at the cutting edge of commercialisation in bio-technology.  In related fields such as nano-technology and medical devices we are proud to host innovative and renowned firms like Oxonica, Oxford Biosensors, and Prolysis.

At The Cherwell Innovation Centre, based at Upper Heyford and one of four innovation centres in the District, there is the Diagnox Laboratory – a shared lab facility for biological and biochemical research, that is home to a number of innovative biotech start-ups.  This unique facility assists research spin-outs and start-ups by enabling access to diagnostic and research equipment otherwise unavailable, and in a supportive and collegiate atmosphere.  Business development services from the Enterprise Hub are available on site, and we are already seeing successful ventures coming from this facility.
